God promised us He will never leave us nor forsake us. From the very beginning when He created us, His desire was to be with us. When you love someone, you want to be with them. Even after Adam and Eve sinned against Him, God did not abandon the human race.
God sent His Son Jesus Christ to die for our sins, so we can be reconciled to God. Jesus returned to Heaven, but He promised to send us the Holy Spirit. "All this happened in order to fulfill what the Lord had spoken through the prophet [Isaiah]: "Behold, the virgin shall be with child and give birth to a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel"—which, when translated, means, "God with us." [Is 7:14]". Matthew 1:22-23 AMP.
