Naaman was a commander of great respect and honor in the Syrian army, however he had leprosy. An Israelite slave girl instructed him to seek out the prophet Elisha. Elisha gave specific instructions for Naaman to dip seven times in the Jordan River to be cleansed of his leprous condition. However, Naaman was offended and refused to obey God’s instructions, through the Prophet Elisha. His pride and unbelief almost prevented him from receiving his miraculous healing and deliverance. Naaman’s servants talked some sense to him, and he changed his mind and obeyed Elisha’s instructions. As soon as he dipped seven times in the Jordan River, he was healed. God has given us specific instructions on how we must be cleansed from our sinful, spiritual condition. Today if you hear God’s voice, do not harden your heart.
