Abraham is called the father of faith, because He believed God's promise to him. God promised that he would be the father of many nations. However, there was a dilemma. His wife, Sarah could not have children. After 25 years of Abraham and Sarah waiting, God fulfilled His promise to them. One hundred years old Abraham and ninety years old Sarah brought forth the promised child. Hebrews 6:12 says, "We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised," (NIV).
