In Isaiah 9, Isaiah prophesied that Jesus the Messiah would go to the people living in the region of Naphtali and Zebulun and be the Light to them. Isaiah 9:2 says, “the people who walked in darkness have seen a great Light; those who dwelt in the land of intense darkness and the shadow of death, upon them has the Light shined.” (AMPC). God showed the prophet the future and he saw his own people restored to their land and being visited by the Light, Jesus Christ. In Matthew 4, Jesus fulfilled Isaiah’s prophecy when he began his ministry in the region of Naphtali and Zebulun and revealed Himself to the people as the great Light. Today, we who were living and walking in darkness have also seen the great Light. Whatever circumstances that we find ourselves in today, Jesus promises to be the Light and help us to overcome the darkness.
