In the story of The Prodigal Son, the younger son asks his father for his inheritance and then travels to a distant land and squanders his inheritance. He is then forced to return home and he expects his dad to treat him as his sins deserve. However, his dad forgives him and shows him grace. We are all the prodigal son. Our first parents squandered their inheritance from their Heavenly Father and passed on sin and iniquity to us. We are all in need of God's grace and forgiveness only found in Jesus Christ.
