Jesus told us that we would have trials and tribulations in this life. All of us have tasted the bitterness that this life can bring, all due to the fall. Naomi certainly tasted life's bitternesss. She lost her husband and her two sons and was only left with her two daughters-in-law. She even changed her name to Mara, which means bitter. However, God turned her life around and gave her a new family. Naomi was able to say as the psalmist David, "O taste and see that the LORD [our God] is good; how blessed [fortunate, prosperous, and favored by God] is the man who takes refuge in Him," (AMP).
