Recently many Christians celebrated Easter and many Jews celebrated Passover. The Christians celebrated the death and the resurrection of Jesus, while the Jews celebrated the Passover as they were commanded by God to do. God instituted the first Passover when He was about to deliver the Israelites from Egyptian bondage. The death angel passed over each house with the blood of the lamb on its doorpost. None of the the firstborn of the Israelites died because the lamb's blood atoned for their sins. The Passover lamb was a pattern or an example of things to come. Many years later God sent Jesus, His Son into the earth to be our Passover Lamb. "Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world." John 1:29.
