Joseph was chosen by God to fulfill His purpose in the earth. However, Joseph was rejected and despised by his brothers, and they sold him into slavery. God was with Joseph, even when he was falsely accused and thrown into prison. God delivered Joseph and promoted him to second in command to Pharaoh in all of Egypt. God used Joseph to save his entire family from starvation and to bring the entire family to Egypt. Joseph was able to say to his brothers, "As for you, you thought evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring about that many people should be kept alive, as they are this day," (AMPC).
