In Daniel 3, God delivered Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego from a fiery furnace. They were thrown into a fiery furnace because of their refusal to bow to an idol. They declared to King Nebuchadnezzar when he threatened them, “If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to save us from it, and he will rescue us from your hand, O king...” Able means having the power, skill, means or opportunity to do something. God is able. Ephesians 3:20-21 says, “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever!
